Tools/sites for evaluating school districts?

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out.

I am looking to buy a turnkey rental out of state, and want to check out the school districts that some of these properties are in to filter some out. At first glance, I found schooldigger as a source that seems alright, since they at least use multiple statistics to come to a rating.

Do any of you have a good site or source that you trust for "vetting" the schools/school districts? Anything would be appreciated.

Alex Mayberry Just Google a local elementary school with “rating” and whatever site there is will pop up. Most engaged parents do that when they see what elementary school their kid will get roped into. Whatever site does the individual rating will also have rankings for all of the schools in the district. While sites like Trulia have school ratings, I’ve done the “think like a parent” strategy myself.
