Real estate investor? or in the real estate business?

Are you a real estate investor or are you in the real estate business? Seems to me at one end of the spectrum is the pure passive investors - those who invest in syndications as limited partners, own triple net leased properties with no management responsibilities, etc. At the other end of the spectrum are the people in the real estate business - brokers, homevestor franchises, etc. Most other real estate related activities fall somewhere inbetween, although leaning to one side or the other. I am curious about how some others see themselves. I my self consider that I am engaged in both. I hold trust deeds and triple net leased properties as a pure investor. However my responsibilities as general partner of couple of real estate investment funds fall under the category of real estate business. Which side do you consider yourself on?
