Responding to a Negative BBB review

We have been talking with a potential Private Investor. They've been doing their due diligence and looking us up online, LinkedIn, Facebook etc. this morning we received communication from them regarding a negative review posted on BBB. We weren't aware of a review being posted so went and looked it up. Long story short it was from a contractor that we hired. Partway through the project we learned that they only had a business license and not a contractors license and the quality of their work was not to our standard. We reduced their contract through a contract change and performed many of the scopes internally. There were 3 subs we paid the contractor for who then did not pay their subs so then had to pay the subs as well. In the end the contractor felt they were owed the full value of the contract. We've gone through the proper channels and reported them as a non-compliant contractor etc. Our question is, how can we respond to the review or provide our side of the story? Or, is it possible to appeal this with BBB?
