How much seasonality is there in pricing for rehab work?

People often say getting projects done in the off months can be cheaper because there is less overall demand which makes sense but how much cheaper are we talking about?  I know there won't be a hard number but am curious what some of you have experienced.

My husband is a contractor in Sandpoint, Idaho and we have long, long winters so work becomes scarce for many contractors during those months and some may agree to cut their fees if they need to stay working. However, once you are an established contractor that experiences high demand, you really have more work than you want and stay busy year round. That being said, most guys don't really like being outside in 5 degree weather so if you have some interior work to be done, you might be able to get a bit of a deal (maybe 2-5% discount)- doesn't hurt to ask, just be aware you might scare off good contractors if they feel like you are being stingy. If you get a bad contractor, you will end up paying for it and then some.
