How is the Market in Rochester, NY for Buying/Holding

Hey BP Family! Just curious to know how the real estate market is doing in Rochester,NY? I am considering investing in a duplex. I have spent most of my years in NC, so just looking for info about the Rochester market? Looking forward to the replies :) -Alexis

@Alexis Scott I think you are overlooking your home market for believing the grass is greener on the other side and most time it is not. You have a competitive advantage investing in your home market, you know the areas, you can self manage since you are in the property management business, and property taxes are much less in NC.

Just a quick search on zillow I choose this property and their are several more in this price range.

When looking to invest out of state you would purchase a two family in upstate NY for maybe the same price but when you factor in property management, more maintenance cost as the ages of the homes are older and travel expense as you need to come and look at your properties in person it is your money at risk and the disadvantage of not being local in your situation staying in your home market makes more sense.
