First Investment - Commercial Real Estate?

Hello BP! 

I've been reading a ton BP forums and articles and can't help but notice one very common occurrence: Everyone seems to start in Single Family or Mult-Family but never commercial. 

My goal is to have my first investment be in commercial but now I'm wondering what other people think of this idea? Is it possible to invest in commercial properties with no previous investing experience? Assuming that the large capital downpayment is not an issue.
