Multi Family Investing Out of State
Hi All,
I am new to BP and have learned a lot in the past few days by reading the discussions.
I live in Atlanta and have 3 town homes rentals in 3 different states managed by rental companies. I was forced to do that due to the fact that Atlanta home prices are very high and was difficult to get the cash flow(1% rule). I bought those 5 years back and happy with the returns so far,
Now i would like to buy a 4 plex rental outside Georgia, managed by some rental management company. Do you think it's a bad idea to invest in MF outside where we live ?
Most of the discussions i have seen here talks about buying 4 plexs below 150 K, which is kinda unthinkable in Atlanta area.So i am thinking of researching areas outside GA. Would it be a bad idea ? Any pointer on areas to look would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks !
