How do I have a roofing claim transferred when purchasing a home.

I am working with a homeowner who is willing to file a roofing claim for the significant damage that is on the roof. We need to close quickly how can I take over that claim? I am in Denver Colorado. Thank you!

@Daniel Smith you can take a price reduction. If a lender is involved, then the funds could be escrowed from the closing until the new roof is in place then they would be released to the contractor and you. Most roofers are willing to work if they know the money is there. The seller would then keep the insurance check.
