Jacksonville , Fl Real Estate License

I am thinking about getting my license for the sole purpose of MLS access, the ability to make offers on properties when I would like and the ability to gain access to properties when I would like. My question is just because I attend the needed classes and earn my license would I need to be under one of the big real estate companies Remax, Century 21, etc or could I gain MLS access as an independent agent? Is anyone currently doing this in the Jacksonville/ North Florida area?

Thanks

in the state of Florida you would have to operate under a broker. I am currently in the process of getting my license for the sole purpose that you mentioned. You may be able to find a broker that allows you to operate under their umbrella as an "investor specialist". Not a lot of brokers have agents on staff that cater to our line of business.
