I been doing this for a while, new to the Alabama market. It's like starting over when you move to a new market. Been talking to contractors and handyman for work I need done. Some guys think you don't know anything about home repair and come at you with crazy numbers. I never show my hand and just listen to what you have to say. I will take your price, check with another source and youtube the job I want done. I can do almost anything in a house, but sometimes I just don't have the time. It's a process and have to develop new relationships. Here was my last job, install a dishwasher to my rental. Contractor came out and wanted 400.00, checked around with other people. This was a 30 dollar in parts and 30 minute hook up. I did the job myself and everything is fine. I use craiglist, but 1 out of 4 will call you back. That has been my numbers, it just takes time to find the right people.
