Chicago Architect with proper credentials

Tom Brown
Posted

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Chicago architect with experience in the City of Chicago, and who has the proper sustainability credentials?

I'm under contract on a single family home in Chicago, and the rehab will include adding two dormers, so I'll need an architect to draft a full plan set for submittal to the City of Chicago Planning Dept. It's been 10+ years since I've gone through the City of Chicago permit review process, and I'm told things have changed.

In particular, I'm told that I need not only an architect that has Chicago experience, but also a specific sustainability certification, otherwise I run the risk of having a very long review process.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @Tom Brown - I'd echo @Paul De Luca and recommend @Samuel Pavlovcik, but also through out @Prashanth Mahakali...both are awesome Chicago architects and good friends.

Things have changed with the City of Chicago, but probably not enough...whichever architect you work with just make sure that they are self certified which can drastically speed up the process.

What neighborhood is your property in?

If you are interested I also have a list of several other quality architects that I am happy to share.
