Looking to purchase a rental with a Section 8 tenant in it.  Has anyone in South Florida done this?  Do I need to register with the housing authority?  Looking to gain more insight into this before I jump in.

Keywords for boost: Boca Raton, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Landlord

Hi Scott, if you have some time I teach a Section 8 series for Miami Association if Realtors. it’s on their YouTube channel.

You don’t need to register in advance if you are purchasing a property that already has a tenant using Section 8 you would just fill out a vendor application and the owner would sign a change of ownership. They will review the documents they request you to turn in and once approved, they will have a W9 for you and your account information so they can start depositing the future rents into your account instead of the previous owners.
if you have any questions, feel free to reach out or you can always book call meeting with me on my website
