I got an application of a 44 year old lady US citizen with no credit history , good income to cover the rental but no credit history.

Answer was that she was recently divorced and husband used to handle finannces.

Sounds fishy. Even if she is being truthful about her husband handling everything, she would still have some trace of a credit history just by having her name on various bank accounts, credit cards, loans, etc.....community property and all that...
