So what is your sweet spot with scaling you portfolio?

How big do you want to get or do you want to remain lean and mean as a solo operator?  Do you see yourself creating a company or maybe just a few partners that can share the work load?  What is the sweet spot for you and your lifestyle?

On posts like this I always prefer to hear from the poster first.

My wife and I have already discussed when is enough enough?  And we are there.  Just the two of us. About 3 hours a day each. Hire high school kids to fill in on tasks and when on vacation.

Depends on your asset type.

With our systems down after 9 years and 8 locations. If we were to shoot for the moon we could scale “easily” to $100mm in 5 years.  We would need to add 1 full time employee.  The beauty to responding and helping others on forums is you identify other areas where the demand exists, zoning is possible and land is priced right.

But rather visit Belize once a month and do Teak Plantations.  This trip need to pick up about 30 coconut seedlings to plant.  Not really wanting to scale.
