Is it safe for Investor Buyer pay with Company Check?

I'm selling my land investment to another investor. I typically request payment in the form of Cashiers Check or Wire Transfer. This investor only pays with a company check.

Is this normal? Do I have recourse if the check doesn't clear? I'm in Texas.

This can easily be taken care of through a certified check, wire, money order, or cashier's check. etc. If the company is reputable and in good standing, possibly there won't be a problem but most transactions I've dealt with are the certified check, wire, money order, or cashier's check.
