Main Drain Cleaning

Anyone have any thoughts on having the main drains professionally cleaned at rental properties to help minimize the risk of a backup? 2 of my properties are early 1900s vintage and the 3rd is mid 50s. I have no idea if they have ever been cleaned. For $100 or so per property what do you think?
