Kitchen renovation help!!

Hi BP,

I recently bought my first property and I will be turning it into a rental property. 3/2, young family neighborhood. The whole house is getting renovated. I took down the wall that divided the old kitchen and dining room to make an open kitchen layout. So now I have two different size windows, one a normal size kitchen window for a sink and one large window for either a desk workstation or bench. What do you think renters prefer?

Also, do I make room for a dining room? My plan is to make an island but going back and forth on how big I should make it.

Thanks!

@Taylor Zima don’t go overboard with counters and cabinets. A decent amount of counter space is great, but then let the tenant furnish it. Save yourself $1000 and let them put in a desk, or bench, or table, or whatever.

I’ve also solved the ‘add a bit more counter space’ by getting a $100 rolling kitchen cart. Looks great, adds storage space, for a lot less than a cabinet, countertop, backsplash, etc.
