Trying to decide on building a duplex or find single family home to rent. I have a small construction company so I could keep cost down. Anyone been in this situation before?

What is there to decide? Where are you thinking about building? What is your goal? A duplex will get you better cash flow, have less risk in a downturn, and should be easier to rent due to asking rent price. Since it will be new it should attract as well as an SFH. I live in Austin, TX. If I was deciding it would be easy.......duplex all the way!!! Cheers.
