Residential lot dumped with rock and dirt,to make equal to street
Hi
I am planning to buy a residential lot, which is dumped with rocks and dirt for upto 8 feet.
Now the lot is equal to road level.
will the soil support a ranch home?
what is the best foundation option for this situation? ( crawl space, slab, basement)
Are there any remedies to make the soil suitable for construction?
Planning to build a Ranch home.
I would really appreciate any inputs/thoughts.Thanks

@Thripura Vemireddy you’ll probably have to dig through the fill so that the foundation footings will be in the original undisturbed soil. Some localities will require an engineer’s approval, some won’t.
