Who Else Hates White Cabinets?
Since there is no "Rehabbing" catagory, BP, wink, wink, i figured i would start here.
Having had the joy of white kitchen cabinets for the last 1.5 years, my thoughts are, I hate them. While they look great, in reality, dust & dirt settles into every crack and crevice, so its right in front of your eye. And every speck of flying food and drink ends up on them, so eventually they look gross. And anything you spill goes right over them, so red wine or pasta sauce will do a number on them.
At least with wood finish, it blends in well, though curious to see any and all replies. Thanks to all who contribute...
Actually there is and it's very popular and can be found here https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/67-rehabbing-...
Your question depends on the style of the house and the price point. Ultimately you need to put in what the masses will like and not what you like.
I do a lot of contemporary designed homes and some of them get white shaker cabinets while others get grey shaker or some other contemporary style and color.
@Will Barnard, thanks, curious to see what is the ratio these days of all 3 of the above. Is it equally a 1/3 or something different?
I actually really like the flat profile white thermofoil cabinets. I find shaker cabinets difficult to clean no matter what the colour.

No idea, every market is different and I would venture to guess that my market would have more of the modern and contemporary designs than TX.
Yes, white shaker and grey shaker are about 90% of our sales here in California and Arizona. It's a very popular color choice now a days.
White and more specific, white shaker was the in choice in my last market (central CT). I tended to use non shaker style cabinets. I did a few dark wood and a few white. Planning on the shaker white for the next house I get, as most people think it is a timeless look.
i dont pay attention to who we vote into our cabinets, but i guess it would be a good thing if we got a more diverse ethnic mix into ours
Jason Chen ha-ha, it took me a second to get your post.
I like the warmth of natural wood with interesting grain. I think white cabinets look like something in a hospital operating room.
@Christopher Winkler I am also definitely on the side of wooden finish cabinets. White cabinets can be quite a pain to maintain.
