Land Acquisitions - New Home Construction 100+ Homes/Year

Is anyone here a land acquisitions agent or new home builder building 100+ homes a year?  I've been working for a builder in that capacity, but could use more training.  I'm looking for a company in a different market (non-competitor) who would allow me to shadow their land person for a week or so, to gain some knowledge and training.  I've been bringing in deals in a non-traditional way, with a background in real estate and investing, but no formal training in a land acquisitions capacity.  I'd like to be able to work more independently, take on meetings with the engineers of projects we have going, and relieve some of the workload from our CEO who has been handling all of this thus far, but now needs to focus on the bigger picture.  I am willing to travel anywhere to get the right training.
