Help with my deal on MLS

I found a deal on the MLS. I've called the listing agent to schedule a showing and plan to use my realtor friend to make an offer for me. Does this sound right? I've been so immersed in off market deals and making my own offers with my own Purchase Agreement, that this MLS deal with realtors seems to simple. Am I missing something? Should I move forward without a buyers agent and just work with the listing agent?
