My wife and I own a two rentals and an air bnb in Southern California currently. We are looking to make the leap into doing real estate full time next year and We would like to start expanding our investments into Idaho, as that is where we want to end up. What are the best methods of house hacking in the Boise area that have worked for people? We are looking for any helpful information on the market and would love to start building connections with some people in the area!

@Steven Soden I think that is awesome if you have the lifestyle flexibility to house hack, you definitely should! I'm an investor and agent here in the Boise area and the method I think is best is finding a duplex (or 4-plex depending on your budget) that needs some updating and live in one of the units while you fix it up. I prefer this method to single-family because you end up with two doors and you didn't have to rent out rooms to roommates, which is not ideal when you're married :) There are also some possibilities of finding a property with a small garage or dwelling unit in the back that can be flipped or converted while you rent out or live in the main house. I'd be happy to chat with you about some of those opportunities around here and other strategies to consider!
