Steps to Renting Out Home

Fiance and I are looking to rent our current SF home in NJ and move across the country. This is our first home which we currently live in, so this is quite exciting and scary.  As we've never been landlords and we know a plethora of things can possibly go wrong + we would property manage ourselves.
Anyway, I have read a few blog posts re: renting out our home and step-by-step guides (most recent- How to Rent Your House: The Definitive Step-by-Step Guide) But what else is needed to rent out our house? Like do we need a new certif of occupancy? (If so, when do we get this in the process?) Any other things that would need to get in order before doing this? Any help and step by step lists, your successful blueprint, or articles would be helpful. Thank you!
