Did you ever have bad experiences with investors who wanted to play an active role in the deal? How do you avoid it? Any tips on how to structure a successful partnership?

From a beginner looking to purchase a small MF.

Some will want a more active role. Others may not. For one thing there will be some investors you are not going to want to work with so you need to decide your parameters. There are lots of investors looking for opportunities that do not want an active role in the deal.

Establish the boundaries,  relationships and roles and how the deal works. Put it all in writing and do not compromise or go against your gut instinct.
