College station multi-family

I may be moving to Texas next year for work - specifically the College Station-Bryan area. What is the REÍ community like there? What kind of multi-family stock is there? Any observations on market trends to share out there in the BP community?

You could read some reports and look at census data to get some indications

@Nate Ginsberg, as @Erik Hatch suggested, the Census is a great resource for ascertaining this kind of information.

Here is a graphic I made showcasing the distribution of structures by unit counts in College Station, TX.

The graph on the right further breaks it down by showing renter and owner occupancy figures by the number of units in the structure.

Hope this helps!

@Nate Ginsberg. Moving to Bryan College Station will be an excellent choice. Great Community - Great People.

There is not a real close knit REI Community, in my Opinion. Doesn't mean there aren't great people to work with - just not a great mesh up of investors.

Quite a bit of Multi-Family Stock in the area, prices range from low $100's to $600's, with most falling in the $250K - $350K Range. From a Market Standpoint - slight overabundance at the moment, due to some higher end student oriented properties that have come into the market over the last several years.

Overall, residential Market is stable with moderate growth in prices for last several years. Ample supply of SFR to choose from in great neighborhoods with quality schools.

I found this forum. I don’t think much has changed in this area since this was posted, at least that’s been my experience. Good luck!

As it turned out, I did not move to the College Station area, but thanks everyone for the insights! Happy New Year!
