Shared Basement in a Duplex

Daniel Kramer
Posted

Hi BP Community,

I just bought my first duplex with the intention to BRRRR it. The duplex has a shared basement and laundry area. The first floor unit has direct access to the basement and the second floor unit has access through a door in the front entrance landing area. Would adding a partition in the basement be worthwhile? I am already updating the electrical, so it would be a matter of relocating one panel to the partitioned area and leaving the other panel.

Always a good idea to have things seperated, but keep in mind there will be little to no hard ROI.
