Best path for disabled

I’m getting very discouraged. I’m suppose to save 10k minimum no matter what type of loan I go for. I get 800 a month on disability and I burned through my savings over the two years fighting for it. Apparently great credit doesn’t mean squat & I DONT WANT TO BE POOR AND LIVE IN ASSISTED LIVING for the rest of my life. I just don’t understand how to do this with no experience , no savings, no assets and limited income.

Omg someone give me hope because I’m in tears here

Hi @Dawn Burwell,

Sorry to hear about your long battle to receive disability.  I'm glad to hear you were finally rewarded something for your efforts though.

Real estate is not a get rich quick scheme, it takes time and effort.  Be weary if anyone tells you otherwise.  However, knowledge is power!  I would focus your efforts first on real estate education.

If you haven't already, start with the BiggerPockets "Ultimate Beginner's Guide." This will give you a lot of the basics in real estate and help you better define your goals and your focus.  Once you have those goals and your focus, reach back out in the BPs forums, or in private messages, for advice on how to navigate that specific path.

As hard as it may be, try to celebrate the small wins!  Focus on what you want, not what you don't want, and strive towards that.

I'm glad you found BPs and that you're being proactive to change your situation.  If I can be of any more help, please feel free to reach out.
