What are the pros and cons of acquiring shopping centers? and how is it riskier or safer than investing in apartment buildings?

@Arturo Borges, multifamily is usually considered one of the least risky commercial real estate investments. Shopping centers are usually on the other end of the spectrum. Shopping centers in general have struggled lately. You don't want your shopping center to rely on stores that can eventually be obsolete. Restaurants and service providers are examples of safer tenants.

There was a BP podcast episode recently with a guy who had a lot of insight on shopping centers. I'd give that a listen to.
