Multi-Family and Apartment Investing

Small multi 2-4 units vs 5-20 units?

I am itching to try a multi now that I have done a few SFH. And debating between duplex/triplex/quad vs 5-15 units multi.
I hear commercial 5+ is not good nowadays. 

Any opinions? Any gurus willing to explain what is better and why?
