HOW TO FIND THE OWNER OF AN APT BLDG THATS MANAGED BY A PROFESSIONAL MGMT COMPANY?
Hello,
I live within an hour of the Minneapolis metro and I own almost 100 apt units. I bought my first property at 19, 3 1/2 years ago. I have made all purchases but 1 from cold calling landlords and asking "want to sell?"
There are a handful of properties that are professionally managed and I cannot find the owner because the taxes are the management company's name and address (same with sec of state website), they of course management companies will not share owners info. I've called the county recorder too and asked who's name is recored on the mortgage, and this too is a dead end.
Any thoughts on how I can track down the owner without the classic answers that I've already tried like sec of state, property tax statement etc.?

If someone wants to hide, they can hide pretty well. I would think the only thing you can do is to actually go to the county recorder site and use their self-search function to pull the deed. If it's in the name of an entity, then head to the state's secretary of state or whoever is the division for corporate/llc filings and see who is registered there for that entity on the deed. Many times owners hide behind entities and trusts. You might not be able to find it because they don't want to be found.
