What to do to win an Auction

I’m VERY interested in a long distance property that is going on Auction soon. It is in Cali but I know the area and know the market value of the land (it is a tear down.

I don’t have experience in bidding and the process... Please share your experience with me how I can win? Should I hire a RE broker from the area? Or should I do the bidding? I should be presented in the court house.
