Foreclosure seems to be taking to long

Was looking at the Sheriff sales list and noticed there was a house down the street from me that was going to be foreclosed on.  It was scheduled for sheriff's sale in March.  A couple of months later, I noticed it was vacant, so I figured it was the norm, bank took it back ect.  I was expecting to see a for sale sign in the front yard like any other.    Has not happened.  Recently checked the county records and it is still in the owners name.  Have seen others go much quicker. What seems to be the problem?
