Foreclosed a couple years ago?

I went driving for dollars a couple days ago and found a house that's vacant and has been for a couple years ago. It was foreclosed on and is now owned by Chase. Is there a general rule about how long the banks hold on to properties before trying to sell them? Has anyone ever called a bank that owns a property and tried to buy it directly from them?

@Laurie Falk,

REOs are usually listed with a designated broker when the lender is ready to sell. Maybe see if you can find other Chase REOs in the area, see who the listing agent is and get in touch with them about the specific property of interest.
