Owner of Short Sale Property Has Stopped Answering My Calls
About a month ago, the owner of a distressed property called me from a yellow letter I had mailed to her and asked me to buy her property. After our conversation, she agreed to let me handle her short sale (A Lis Pendens had already been filed or I would have just bought the house in cash) through the use of my attorney. So, my attorney and I have several conversations with the homeowner and we give her the short sale package that needs to be completed. Ever since then, she has cut off all communication. My question is does anyone know of a good tactic to get her back communicating with us? I think the paperwork must have been too overwhelming.
Thanks for the help

This one is probably a no go but for future ones this is my advice. If the numbers are right, offer them cash at close for there time. Usually we do around $5000. However, if you are a realtor this is illegal. Only unlicensed individuals can do this. People will still be a bit cautious, but an addendum showing them cash at close will help. Most people with a lis pendens filed on them are simply broke. The banks don't allow them any money from the sale, so this little bit is inticing to them cause it helps with those moving expenses. Once again, if you hold a realtor license don't do it.
