Foreclosure auction

hello BP!  There is a house that I saw that is about to be auctioned off.  I went to the address of the owner.  The owner wasn't there but I spoke to her son. He was telling that he doesn't know exactly how much taxes are owed on the house.  How can one find out how much is owned on a house?  Taxes, mortgage, ect.  Thx.  I want to see if I can do something that will create a win-win situation.  Especially for them.
