Future of commercial buildings

Given the future of commercial what are some ideas regarding repurposing of commercial.

I'm working with a friend on a strip mall. Will be targeting Tennants that we know will be ok relative to the new normal. I.E. take out/delivery, auto parts, dollar store etc.

But that's not very forward thinking.

I'm lacking a crystal ball and and looking for some brainstorming on the future. I realize no one can predict, just ideas.

Strip malls?

Stand alone offices?

Larger commercial buildings?

Will live/work grow?

FWIW The areas I'm in are Sacramento to Bay Area.

TIA

@Alan Fortin I am currently finding that my office building has near zero tenant demand. Luckily it was formerly a duplex that was converted to office use and the zoning is broad enough for a variety of options. I ran some ads for adult foster care based on the layout and was pleasantly surprised with the demand in that area. A bit costly to retro-fit back for habitational purpose, but essentially creating medical use which with yield much better cash flow.
