Seller wants access to buyer's appraisal for seller's loaner
Currently pursuing a multifamily commercial investment and the seller is requesting that buyer (me) provide the seller's lender a copy of the appraisal report that the buyer purchased in order to secure a loan with a local bank. What are your thoughts about the request? I find it strange that the buyer would have to provide the seller with a free copy of the appraisal in order for the seller to be released from their blanket mortgage. Is this common? What would you advise?

Yeah I would advise against sharing the appraisal. If it’s higher than your purchase price, they might try to use it as leverage to renegotiate a higher amount or try and break contract with you to find another buyer.
