Many HVAC contractors are skilled in modern furnaces, modern AC units, and ductwork, but lack experience in the vintage boiler systems. I was in your situation and I consulted an expert in boilers/steam heat. The cost might even be slightly more than what HVAC contractors may quote you, but this is a job you want done correctly.
