Downtown Allentown Revitalization Value?

I found an appartment in the downtown Allentown area. Does anyone know if there is anymore plans to build up in the area? I heard the old post office on 5th street is shutting down? I understand the 18102 zip code isn’t the best but do we see value 5-10 years down the road?

Remember that you can:

Visit the town/city website to see their plans for the future

Attend town/city meetings to influence those plans and get first hand information on what's being planned.

I live in the Triangle, NC and wish I had been more involved in the downtown plans of the cities here (Raleigh, Durham, Cary). In 10 years, things have changed so drastically ... Some property owners have just made a fortune rehabbing some of the old homes.
