Raising Taxes

Coming soon to a state near you:

We are about to have a vote for the state of Oregon to raise the taxes on businesses. I suspect it will pass, because the TV is full of ads about making "the wealthy pay their fair share", and all but coming out and claiming that corporations only pay $10 a year in taxes (completely untrue).

The net result will be, of course, that they put small businesses out of business, and the larger corporations will simply move out of state.

This certainly affects the commercial real estate investor, because fewer small businesses means fewer tenants for the commercial buildings.

Oregon tends to be pretty conservative, so if we are doing it, more states will be doing it.

Just a heads up.
