How to buy an apartment complex?

I have multiple single-family homes, I want to go to the next level and after either selling or cashout/refi part of my portfolio I want to find an apartment complex. How different is it to buy commercial property like a 10 unit or above from a single-family home?  what is the process? metrics, or anything I need to keep in mind.

Thank you for any help

Its a very different process. You'll need a higher level of due diligence if you are not paying all cash. Lender will require a lot more underwriting on cash flow and not just rely on "comps" You need to build a team broker, attorney, inspection, lenders, CPA, etc.
