Off Market buy / need a real estate lawyer

I'm in the process of putting an offer together on an out of state home.  No realtors involved. Curious if I should work with a real estate lawyer in my vicinity (Portland, Oregon) or where the home is (Bay Area, Northern California).  Thanks.
