Subdividing 1 Acre Parcel
I'm currently waiting on the inspection report for a property that is 1 acre. It already has a single family home on it, but I'd like to add a duplex. There is plenty of space for it, but the property is zoned single family.
I have a questions:
1. Is it easier to get the zoning changed to multi-family or subdivide the lot into .5 acre parcels to accomplish my goal?
2. Which method costs the most?
3. Which method takes the most time?
All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
