Difficulty getting appraisal

Posted

We had an offer accepted on a home in the beginning of July, and our lender (a major bank) has still not secured an appraiser. We have already received an extension of a month, and now the lender is asking for another week. Understandably the buyer is upset.

Has anyone else been having issues in PA getting an appraisal done? Any tips on how to push along this process would be greatly appreciated. We have already upped the price to $1000 to try to attract an appraiser.

We recently had this issue over in Columbus OH. Lender had to switch AMC's because first appraisal company had nobody lined up. Best thing is to put pressure on lender to do whatever it takes.
