Investing Out of State - Methods to Sign and Close?

Hello BP,

I'm closing in on two duplexes in Ohio. I'm currently residing in Washington. What are some of the methods for me to complete the final signing virtually?

From what I've gathered so far:

  1. Have the paper work faxes to a WA escrow then signed in person here, then faxed back.
  2. Have the paper work mailed to me, signed with a notary here in WA, then send back.

What other methods are there? Ideally I could do this over a zoom call. ;)

Thanks in advance!

Some states allow video/electronic notarization. I’m not sure if Washington is one of those states.  It’s not as simple as a zoom call, but similar concept.  The title company will likely arrange it if that’s what you request.  Or they can send a mobile notary to wherever you want to sign the papers and the notary will take care of returning the documents for you.
