Chicago Suburbs to Invest In
Hi All,
Looking to start investing in rental properties in the Chicago Suburbs. Does anyone have any recommendations of a town/area to look into and has had success with REI? Thank for your help!

I'd suggest house hacking in the western suburbs of Chicago. There's a lot of 2-4 units in Berwyn, Cicero, Forest Park, Melrose Park, and a few other surrounding west/southwest suburbs (Aurora, Elgin, etc). Find something with some easy value add (cosmetic improvements), live in one unit, and find great tenant(s) to rent the others. Use a low down payment loan (FHA for example) and get a large seller closing credit to save your cash at closing.
