Hello BP community so if there is any veterans out there or active army I would like to know your tips while in the army. So I'm planing on house hacking instead of living in the barracks, most likely getting a 4 plex. to fund it I want to use the VA loan. Is there any tips or advice military members would recommend? RIght now I'm a private, but I'm actively working on real estate.

Start speaking with lenders now to figure out where you stand and what you have to do to qualify for your VA loan. See if there are any other owner occupant loan products that will help you accomplish your goals. I'd research down payment assistance programs for first time home buyers especially if you ever are considering the SFH rent by the bedroom strategy. Read and listen to podcast every second you can. Start building relationships one by one. Go to the local REIA you can find them on FB and see if you can find a great realtor or contractor and start cultivating that relationship. You will probably be successful finding them on this platform as well. Be intentional about finding someone who is doing what you want to do in real estate that can help shorten your learning curve. (Add value to everyone you meet first and you'll be awesome) Your worst case scenario is a dire one because one deployment can break you without the property systems or team in place so prioritize planning and risk management. You need people you can trust!
