Foreign LLC in Ohio???

Stephen Lee
Posted

HI BP Forum,

I will be looking to buy rentals in the state of Ohio soon. My home state is in New York and I have a LLC set up here in New York. If I will be using a PM company to manage my rentals, must I file my LLC as a foreign LLC in the state of Ohio? Appreciate any help I can get on this topic. Thanks!

Hey @Stephen Lee Welcome to the Buckeye State! I am in the Toledo area and I work with clients and owners that have properties in their personal name as well as an LLC. Personally, I have them in an LLC because I own personal property in Ohio however, my Florida properties are in my name. I would be happy to discuss the process if you would like. I would recommend finding a local lawyer in the area you are looking to invest in :)
