My parent is my first tenant, and has a section 8 voucher
As a first time home buyer and investor, using an FHA loan, can I legally rent one of the apartment units to a parent who is on Section 8, having them as my tenants?

@Marlon Brown No, you cannot. The voucher the Section 8 recipient receives (and signs) has a bunch of conditions. One of them prohibits them from "Receiving housing choice voucher program housing assistance while residing in a unit owned by a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sister or brother of any member of the family".
(Note: There is a POSSIBLE exception if your parent is disabled and this unit would provide "reasonable accommodations" for that parent and their disabilities. However, that's an exception and the determination would have to be made and approved by the Housing Authority in advance.)
